Paper-cut Transitions is a set of 24 video transitions made from layered cut paper, in the spirit of Polish wycinanki: symmetrical florals, roosters, tulips, trees of life, Kurpie stars and stacked rosettes, cut with scissor edges and laid on top of each other with soft paper shadows. Every transition grows or slides across the whole frame, holds fully covered for a few frames, then clears, so it hides the cut between two shots. They are 1.2 seconds long at 30 fps and come with a transparent background, so you drop one above your cut and it just works.
The set mixes moves: layered rosettes that bloom from the centre or a corner, Kurpie star blooms, petal blooms, mosaics and tile pops, paper blinds and curtains, rooster and tree-of-life friezes sweeping across, torn paper collages, a zigzag cut, folding panels, a paper fan, and stacked paper rings and frames that close like an iris.
